“If you cry because the sun has gone out of your life, your tears will prevent you from seeing the stars…”. We all want to be happy in life but often we fail to r and cherish happiness in the smallest day to day activities. It is said that happiness is a choice. So choose to be happy and live life to the fullest.
To me Happiness is when the first rain of the year touches the sun soaked earth and the trees begin to follow the rhythm of the wind. The smell of the rain soaked earth stimulates olfactory happiness. The dancing of the trees creates visual happiness. The pattering sound of the rain generates auditory happiness. Happiness is helping your Maa to cross the busy road by holding her hand. Happiness is after a day’s busy schedule just to lie down idly on the roof and to watch the stars studded sky. Happiness is when 4-5 years old dress suits perfectly on body giving you a feeling that there is no change in your figure. Happiness is to get the new currency notes in ATM. To walk in the night all alone.

From my early childhood since I realized what “Study” is…(Yes study not Education), I am a great devotee of Goddess Sarasswati as she is the sole rescuer and protector in the time of exams( Ohhh…How horrible those days were!). So from the very childhood I never violated any rituals relating to Saraswati Puja just to make Her happy and please Her.
This year also I performed all the rituals with utmost devotion (one of my examinations is knocking at the door).
The most vivid memory of my childhood is visiting the schools by wearing saree.(though my tummy used to look remarkably awkward in my mom’s saree). The colour of the saree must either be yellow or white as I have already mentioned I am a great devotee. Honestly speaking I don’t have much knowledge about the association of goddess Saraswati with yellow colour. We always see Her idols in White saree. I never bother about logic.( when it is about the devotion). So this year too I have followed my belief blindly. I dressed myself up in a yellow saree.
This is a traditional Tant Saree, very elegant to look. But the problem is…if you don’t know how to wear it properly you will look fatty. Okay.. yes… you got it right. What I want to mean is…. I am not so much fatty as I am looking here, though my elder brother always calls me “chhota Haati” (little elephant)
So my look for this Saraswati puja ….
